Chapter One
Alexis pinched the bridge of her nose as she leaned against the
couch and tried to concentrate on the contracts in front of her. Her thoughts kept drifting back to Sonny and everything that
had happened between them in the past two weeks. Oh, how she missed what they used to have. 'Where did everything go so
wrong?' She wondered, but of course she knew the answer: Carly.
Carly came back, just in time for her own funeral of course, and
turned everything all around. Sonny was so happy to have her back again and Alexis knew that backing off was the best thing
to do for all of their sakes. It was just so damn hard and she couldn't help but wonder where things would be if Carly hadnt
been so stupid to drive while in a blinding rage.
'Oh Alexis, stop thinking for once. You're an independent woman
and you do not, I repeat do not obsess over a man, and certainly not Sonny Corinthos.' She threw her glasses onto the
table and rose from the couch.
"I need to go to bed," she said, stretching her tired body and
suppressing a yawn.
She slowly made her way towards the stairs but was stopped mid-way
by the heaving pounding on her door. "Just go away," she muttered. She was not in the mood to deal with anyone. To no avail,
the pounding just became louder.
"Whoever the hell you are, I swear you are going to-," she swung
the door open, only to reveal her bad mood: Carly.
"Carly," she groaned.
"You're going to do what, Alexis?" Carly demanded, storming her
way into Alexis' apartment.
"Please, Carly, come on in," she said, sarcasm dripping from every
word.
"You know Alexis, you sure do have some nerve playing all innocent
and acting as though nothing happened.
"Carly, I have no idea what you are talking about, so if you don't
mind, would you please leave so I can go to bed?"
"Cut the crap Alexis. I know that you and Sonny slept together
and therefore caused my accident. You will never get near Sonny again because he is mine and loves me. Don't get in my way
Councilor, and if you do, watch out!" Carly yelled, her arms flailing about.
Alexis was a little shocked that Carly knew because Sonny hadn't
mentioned anything to her about it, even though he had seen her countless times after Carly was found. She quickly gained
her composure and straightened her back.
"Carly, I think you are just jealous because Sonny was finally
with a real WOMAN, and not some whiney diminutive girl who acts like a brat all the time. I think you are scared that I may
actually be some sort of competition for you. I'm done with your games, so why don't you move your bony ass from my apartment
and back over to your own damn house."
Alexis hated arguing with Carly, but it felt good to finally get
some of the things she had been dying to say off of her chest.
"You bitch!" Carly screamed, raising her hand and swinging hard.
Alexis, who had been prepared for this, caught Carly's wrist and squeezed.
"Not so fast Carly," she said, tightening her hold. Carly let
out a whimper. Alexis lowered her voice and got in her face. "Listen up and listen good. Don't you ever come over here and
threaten or taunt me again. You are way over your head and quite frankly I'm sick of listening to you and your pathetic little
problems. Why don't you go home to Michael? You do remember him right? Your son?
Be a mother and stop bothering me. I will talk to Sonny if I want because Sonny
is first and fore most my client and he also happens to be a good friend of mine. If you don't like it, well that's too damn
bad, live with it. Now if you don't mind, I would like some peace and quiet so leave."
Alexis let go of Carly's wrist and walked towards the door. Carly
stood there dumb founded and all she could was stare. Anger started to set in and she soon became furious. How dare Alexis
speak to her like that and get away with it. Her eyes scanned the room wildly and landed on the object resting atop the desk,
a crystal vase.
Alexis opened the door to let Carly out when she caught the flash
of movement from behind her. She tried to turn around but instead felt the blinding hot pain shoot through the back of her
head. Explosions of white and red danced before her eyes, but she didn't miss the wild gleam in Carly's eyes and the slight
smirk plastered on her face before the pain became so intense and engulfed her in the world of unconsciousness.
Carly took great pleasure in hearing the graceful 'thud' of Alexis'
body as it hit the floor. Carly looked down at her hand and saw a piece of the vase still enclosed it in. She bent down over
Alexis' body and saw the blood seeping from behind her head. She looked at her hand and then once again at Alexis. She brought
her hand up and quickly brought it down, plunging it into Alexis' abdomen. The blood poured freely onto the cold floor beneath.
"He's mine, now and forever."
Carly stepped over the shoe that had slipped off of Alexis and
hastily made her way to the stairwell. 'Just to be safe', she thought. Her giggle was cut of with the sharp click of
the heavy stairwell door closing.

Sonny was riding up the elevator thinking about what to do about
Carly. At first he had been so happy and grateful to have Carly back. He though she was what he had wanted all along. He loved
her, but he realized, he wasn't in love with her. Everything had changed so much and missed Alexis. 'Alexis,' he thought.
He couldn't help the small grin that came across his face just thinking about her. She was such an important part of his life
and he was shutting her out. He needed her too much to let that happen. Alexis was backing off because she thought it was
easiest for him. 'God, she's amazing.' The elevator came to its stop and Sonny had an overwhelming feeling to see her.
He would win her back and he would do it on his hands and knees if she wanted him to.
He quickly got off the elevator and made his way towards her apartment.
Noticing her door slightly ajar, he lightly pushed it open and walked inside. He made it a few steps when he tripped over,
what appeared to be a shoe, and fell. He swore under his breath and looked over. Everything inside him froze.
"Jesus Christ! Alexis!"
Alexis lie, covered in blood, her skin ashen. Her body, motionless.
